Welcome! My name is Dr. Christine.
Consider this your online destination for freedom from your health issues.
My mission: to liberate you from incessant health distress so that you are free to fully live and love your life. Together, we’ll discover the eating and lifestyle habits that are keeping you stuck, work to create a custom nutrition and supplement protocol to get you on track, and optimize your relationship with your body so that you can heal your body, for good!
Why trust me? After years of living with a digestive disorder myself, I discovered the key secrets to cultivating balance in the gut without feeling overwhelmed, deprived, or alone.
A belly that seemed to protest almost everything I put in my mouth. A belly that had me doubled over in pain daily. A belly that was incessantly bloated, constipated, or cramped (sometimes all three).
I was not happy (to say the least!). In fact, I felt like I couldn’t really live my life. Food felt like the enemy. Waking up was a struggle. And focus throughout the day was pretty non-existent due to severe headaches and fatigue. I didn’t trust my body. And if I’m being really honest, I was afraid of it. Of what it would do if I ate a sandwich, drank a smoothie, or sipped on a cup of coffee.
The experience of eating “normal” was no longer an option. A reality that often left me thinking, “well, what’s left for me to eat?”
Underneath all of the food sensitivities and belly distress, I knew I wasn’t meant to spend life completely uncomfortable. That, coupled with my brother’s sudden health decline and passing, compelled me to get to the bottom of my own issues.
Feeling incredibly frustrated with doctors not knowing how to diagnose me, I declined my acceptance to medical school, got my yoga certification, and set out on a journey to discover natural avenues of healing.
Enter my experience with a Naturopath who soon became my greatest teacher and inspiration in overcoming all of my food sensitivities and ultimately healing my gut.
Shortly thereafter, I discovered the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach Training Program and knew this education was a key piece in my healing. Throughout the course, I learned from the highest caliber experts in health and wellness: Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willet, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; and Geneen Roth, best-selling author and expert on emotional eating.
In this transformative year, I not only learned how to connect more deeply to the healing power of my body, but I felt incredibly free. Free from constant discomfort. Free from not knowing what to eat. Free to live my life.
And when my life opened up, new opportunities to get into alignment with my true passions came forth. I was serendipitously pulled toward Strala Yoga, a New York City based yoga studio founded by Tara Stiles, where I received my second form of yoga teacher training.
Why did I fall in love with this particular studio? Strala empowers its members to tune into themselves and cultivate a more compassionate relationship with the body. Allowing for everyone to go their own way, at their own pace, and in their own time.
I then went on to earn my Doctor of Clinical Nutrition degree at Maryland University of Integrative Health, which satisfied my thirst for an innovative curriculum combining rigorous coursework, research, and experiential training. I was educated from an integrative and functional framework, allowing me to become part of whole-person, relationship-centered healthcare. The foundational principles of interconnections, holism, transformation, diversity, and resilience underscore my commitment to facilitate optimal nutrition and health; attending to one’s whole body, including physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms, as opposed to a body composed of parts in need of “fixing.” Each person is a whole in which a vital force lives, capable of healing, maintaining health, and preventing dis-ease.
Nutrition is an art and science. As a Functional Nutrition & Wellness Expert with a clinical and research background in the mind, body, and spirit interconnection, it’s my intention to give every single client the toolkit they need to find the freedom I’ve found Let’s get you yours.
